Grafton to Inverall (15 March): Race Recap

The Grafton to Inverell did not disappoint with podiums secured from both men and women teams.

Despite the potential threat posed by Tropical Cyclone Alfred, we were fortunate to receive confirmation that the event would proceed.

This provided a valuable opportunity to gain additional series points and narrow the gaps with our main competitors.

The Men

Effective teamwork was crucial in tackling the 228km distance and 3382m of climbing.

The team performed exceptionally well, enabling Zac Marriage to reach the forefront of the race and secure second place on the podium. This accomplishment was truly a team effort, with outstanding contributions from Iven Bennet, Josh Cranage, Gus Miller, and Connor Doyle.

Zac Marriage’s stellar performance got him the 2nd place

The Women

The women's race commenced with our main competitors determined to create a breakaway and lock down Alli Anderson and Katelyn Nicholson. It is evident that our rivals recognise the strength of our team.

Rachael Wales demonstrated her determination and experience by making the winning break and competing vigorously despite being outnumbered.

This effort earned Rachael second place on the podium, showcasing that BZR has many cards to play, keeping our rivals guessing.
